Dear Retina Update Participant:
As we informed you earlier in the week, we would be following the news and recommendations of local, state and federal officials regarding the Coronavirus outbreak here in Los Angeles. As you all know by now, California has declared a state of emergency, with 54 known patients with the virus, and six new cases in LA County recently reported. In light of these new developments, and the lack of clarity about the true number of infected individuals and their whereabouts, we here at Retina-Vitreous Associates believe that it would be in the best interests of all individuals participating in Retina Update 2020 to postpone the meeting at least until the warmer months here in LA. We need to safeguard the health of all of us as health care providers, our patients, our families, our employees and significant others.
We are diligently working on securing a new date for our meeting, and will keep you all informed regarding our new meeting date in the very near future. We are truly sorry and disappointed that we are taking this action, but we strongly believe this is in the best interest of our eye-care community.
Thank you again for all of your support and understanding.
